Care, the minimal way

 

Your Born Minimal tee is made from 100% Supima cotton—chosen for its softness, strength, and refined finish. A little considered care will help it retain the shape, colour, and feel it was made for.

First washes: a note on colour

During the first two to three washes, you may notice a slight release of colour into the water. This is normal with dyed cotton.

It is caused by trace amounts of unfixed surface dye releasing from the garment—a natural process we call colour neutralisation. The pace of this process depends largely on the pH and mineral content of your water, not on the quality of the dye.

The colour within the fabric remains where it belongs. A slight tint in the wash water does not mean that the true colour of your tee is fading.

For the first few washes, wash your tee separately or with similar dark colours.

Wash with care

Wash your tee with soft fabrics and avoid washing it alongside garments with metal details.

Zips, buttons, studs, and emblems can abrade the cotton surface during a wash cycle, creating unnecessary friction and lint. Keeping metal-trimmed garments separate helps preserve the smooth finish of the fabric.

Turn the tee inside out before washing. This helps protect the outer surface and keeps the finish looking considered for longer.

Dry in shade, inside out

After washing, dry your tee inside out and away from direct sunlight.

 

 

Ultraviolet light can gradually dull the fabric’s natural sheen and affect the depth of dyed colour. Shade-drying is the simplest way to protect both.

Made with length, on purpose

Born Minimal tees are cut slightly longer by design.

The taller, box-cut silhouette gives the garment a cleaner fall, works for taller frames, and leaves enough length to tuck in when the occasion calls for it. We do not trim length to save fabric—because the way a T-shirt sits matters as much as the way it feels.

In brief

Wash separately or with similar dark colours for the first two to three washes.

A slight release of dye into the wash water is normal and does not affect the true fabric colour.

Turn the tee inside out before washing.

Keep it away from zips, buttons, studs, and metal emblems.

Dry inside out, in the shade.

Treat the length as intentional: wear it loose, tuck it in, or layer it beneath a jacket.
