Fabric-first at Born Minimal means the fibre and fabric are decided before the design, the season or the price. The Born Minimal tee begins with SUPIMA® extra-long-staple cotton — roughly the top one percent of cotton grown worldwide — spun into a two-ply, combed, compact-spun Ne 40/1 yarn, knitted into 220 GSM interlock, then mercerised and bio-washed. The cut and colours are chosen after the fabric, to suit it. Born Minimal publishes every material specification because a fabric chosen properly has nothing to hide.

When the fabric is right, there is very little left to design.

Minimal at Born Minimal means one garment, five colours and no noise. Born Minimal makes a single crew-neck t-shirt in a tall box cut, with no prints, no logos on the outside of the shirt and no range of alternative fits. The five colours are chosen to sit alongside an existing wardrobe rather than define one.

The tee is engineered for longevity: pre-shrunk with under 2% shrinkage, wash fastness grade 4–5, and a taped 1×1 rib collar built to hold its shape across years of washing.
